If you’re looking to switch to a Vitamix blender, it’s likely you’ve had issues with blending tough recipes like nut butter with consistency. Or you just couldn’t stand the noise the kitchen appliance makes.

If that’s you, you’re making the right choice. Vitamix models boast some of the most powerful motors, exceptional performance, and long-lasting durability.

Real quick, our top choice for the best Vitamix blender is the Vitamix 5200 Pro blender. While the other models on this list are great, the 5200 exhibited the highest performance in our tests. But we understand that preferences differ, so after over 10 hours of in-depth research, tests, and going through customer feedback, we created a list of the top 8 best Vitamix blenders.

Let’s dive right in.

Best Vitamix Blenders Top Picks and Quick Summary

List of Top Rated Vitamix Blenders in 2022

1. Vitamix 5200 Professional Grade Blender

Features

Our top pick for the best Vitamix blender is the Vitamix 5200 not only because of its 64-ounce capacity and quiet operation, but because of its immense power.

In our test, the Vitamix 5200 blender produced some of the smoothest smoothies, many thanks to its powerful 2 HP motor. Despite, the power packed in this blender, it was relatively quiet while blending our veggies to give us delicious, dips, dressings, and thick cups of smoothies.

It’s also one of the easiest and best blenders for beginners to use as its control panel features a single dial and two switches: the power switch and the speed controller.

One thing we didn’t like about the Vitamix 5200 is that it doesn’t feature presets so you’ll have to do everything manually. Also, we had some difficulty cleaning the blender – the slender container made it a bit difficult for our hands to reach the blades. And as a tall blender with height 20 inches, it doesn’t fit (either for use or storage) in the standard 18-inch space between the countertop and the upper cabinet.

If these aren’t deal breakers for you, then be prepared to enjoy long-lasting blending power: this simple appliance comes with a 7-year warranty, and is built to withstand heavy use even in commercial kitchens.

Also, there’s a perk to the 5200’s slender canister. We observed that it helped the blender produce smoother smoothies, purees, and soups than models with wider canisters as vegetables and fruits rarely got stuck under the blades.

The slow start feature prevented our content from spilling over. And the auto-shut off feature kept our Vitamix in check when the motor got overworked. Plus its 10-speed settings ensured we could blend your foods at our own pace.

Cons

2. Vitamix One Blender

Features

Moving away from the 5200 blender with a long container to one with a more compact, the Vitamix ONE is a blender with a small footprint that sits nicely on the kitchen counter. The 16-inch ONE blender is one of the best blenders for small kitchens.

Of all the Vitamixes on this list, the Vitamix ONE blender is the cheapest. But its price isn’t its biggest selling point: its efficiency at blending smoothies, purees, sauces, and soups is. When compared with the other Vitamix blenders we tested, the ONE is the simplest blender to operate as it features only one dial (and no other controls or pulse button) for controlling the 10-speed settings.

What we had an issue with was its low motor power – 1.2 horsepower. This rendered it unhelpful in crushing ice, grinding grains, making nut butter, and blending hot soups: the instruction clearly stated to avoid using it for such purposes. Also, it’s the noisiest blender we tested, and it had the least warranty: 2 years. Since it comes with only one button (which isn’t the power button), it stays switched on when plugged into an electrical outlet.

Cons

3. Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series Professional Grade Smart Blender

Features

The first reason we love this Vitamix blender is that unlike the Vitamix 5200 and ONE, the Ascent A3500 comes with a LED touchscreen display and 5 presets. So whether you want to blend smoothies, make nut butter or hot soup, or puree baby food, you can select the designated preset and have the appliance process your food to perfection. There’s also a self-cleaning feature. Convenience at its best!

Unlike the 5200 and ONE, this smart blender comes with a built-in programmable timer so you can set it to process your drinks while you attend to other things.

The blender has a powerful 2.2 HP motor that can make peanut butter in 40 minutes and blend smoothies with impressive consistency. While it offers similar performance as the 5200, it’s a bit louder.

We also like that the A3500 has a pulse button added to the variable speed controls. One challenge we had was that it lacked the strong vortex to pull ingredients to its core due to its larger container – the good news is that you can get a narrower 42-ounce container. But all these impressive features – including its 10-year warranty – come at a price: the A3500 is the most expensive Vitamix blender we tested.

Pros
Cons

4. Vitamix Professional Series 750

Features

The Vitamix Professional Series 750 could easily be ranked our best blender, and here’s why.

It’s built to withstand everyday use as it comes with a 2.2 HP motor (making it more powerful than our top pick – the Vitamix 5200). Also, it boasts a 7-year warranty which is indicative of its quality and durability.

Like the A3500, it has 5 preset programs for making smoothies, hot soup, frozen desserts, purees, and cleaning itself. In addition, there are 10-speed settings and a pulse blend feature for more consistent blends. But where we prefer the A3500 to the 750 Professional Series is in its touchscreen control – 750 uses analog controls.

The Vitamix 750 also does a good job making whipped cream – something that’s difficult for many blenders. You’ll get the most value from this blender if you own a busy or professional kitchen or you cook for a large family as it’s good for blending large batches of ingredients. One little issue we had was with blending small batches of food. But you can get the 32-ounce container.

Another reason we prefer the 750 Pro to the 5200 is its low profile jar which makes it compatible with most kitchen counters. While it is quieter than the 5200, it’s not as quiet as the A3500.

Cons

5. Vitamix Explorian E310

Features

While the Explorian E310 is the second most compact standard Vitamix we tested after the ONE, it’s the best budget-friendly blender.

And it’s got better features than the Vitamix ONE. First, it has a smaller pitcher (which we don’t really like) but offers more room to blend smoothies and other recipes at a time. Unlike the ONE which has one speed setting as its only control, the E310 has three like our top pick, the Vitamix 5200 – a 10-speed dial, an on/off switch, and a pulse toggle.

We also observed how easy it was to clean this model: it was one of the easiest blenders to clean in our tests. At 84 decibels, it’s a lot quieter than the ONE. It also offers more powerful performance. But compared to the Vitamixes 5200, A3500, and 750, it’s a moderate performer: hence, the cheaper price point.

It’s also built to last longer than the ONE but has a shorter life expectancy than the other top countertop blenders.

All around, this compact blender is designed for more frequent use than the Vitamix ONE. The only clear advantage the ONE has over the Explorian E310 is its price, but we don’t mind paying a little extra for the higher-quality performance and better functionality of the E310.

Cons

6. Vitamix A3300 Ascent Blender

Features

If you love the smart features of the A3500 but need a more affordable alternative, the Vitamix A3300 will make a great choice. Like the A3500, it features an LED touchscreen control panel and a built-in timer to auto-shut off the appliance when it’s done processing your ingredients.

It also has a wide canister like the Vitamix A3500, and as with other blenders with wide canisters, this posed a challenge when blending small batches and making nut butter. The Vitamix A3300 is also louder than the A3500, but quieter than the 750 Pro.

The major difference between the Vitamix A3500 and the A3300 is that the former comes with 5 presets while the A3300 has no pre-programmed setting – this makes it $100 cheaper than the A3500.

Both the Vitamix A3500 and A3300 work with the Vitamix app which has 17 programs to automate your food processing with your smartphone and 500 recipes to inspire you.

Cons

7. Vitamix Ascent Series A2300

Features

By offering powerful motors with 2.2 HP peak performance and a life expectancy of 10 years, the Vitamix Ascent series is the best of all the Vitamix brands. While this model is the most affordable Vitamix Ascent blender on this list, it’s louder than the A3500 and A3300.

It also works with the Vitamix Perfect Blend app to allow you to select from 17 programs and over 500 recipes. As with the other smart Ascent models, it features a touchscreen display with a built-in timer, a 10-speed control knob, and wireless connectivity.

The only downside with the A2300 is its wide canister that’s difficult to clean and best for preparing food in large batches.

If you’re on a budget but want a more powerful blender than the classical Vitamx ONE and Explorian E310, you can get this Ascent. But be prepared to pay around $500 for the premium features.

Cons

8. Vitamix Immersion Blender

Features

The last Vitamix blender on our list doesn’t come with a container but can be used in a wide variety of containers. It is a handheld blender that offers you the convenience of blending and mixing your soup, sauce, and smoothie ingredients directly in the pot or container you’re using for food preparation. The only criteria are for the container to have a mouth that’s at least 3 inches wide.

It features two buttons – the power button and the 5-speed setting button. Also, in our test, we found the ergonomic handle very comfortable to grip.

Unlike most other brand’s handheld blenders with a  1-minute runtime before stopping, the Vitamix immersion blender can run for 4 minutes non-stop. But while this handheld appliance offers impressive blending power, it’s the least powerful appliance on this list.

The major issue we had testing the Vitamix immersion blender is that it isn’t powerful enough for making peanut butter. And while it can puree your ingredients into soup, it’s not the most ideal appliance for it.

Factors to Consider When Selecting the Best Vitamix Blenders

Vitamix blenders are some of the most powerful and highest-quality blenders on the market as they’re built to last long and seamlessly cut through tough ingredients.

These top-quality features also make Vitamix blenders expensive. So before you splurge on a Vitamix blender, you should consider the following factors;

Blending power

Vitamix blenders are known for their powerful motors with 2.2 horsepower. They are strong enough to process fruits, vegetables, and tough ingredients such as nuts into silky smooth paste within 5 minutes. However, some less powerful models are not great for every day use or making peanut butter.

Capacity

The capacity of your ideal Vitamix blender depends on your living condition. If you have a family of 4 or more members, you can go for a 64-ounce blender as it can make large batches of smoothies and soup. Keep in mind that these models won’t do a thorough job blending small portions of food. A smaller canister will be great if you’re using your blender for personal use or if you have a small kitchen.

Programs

If you want to take the guesswork out of preparing some of your frequent recipes, you can go for a Vitamix blender that comes with presets. These tend to be more expensive than manual models.

Price

Vitamix blenders are usually expensive due to their power and features. But you can get more affordable options like the Vitamix ONE and the immersion blender. These are not really durable or designed for heavy-duty tasks. But if you need a smart blender, the Vitamix A3300 is more affordable than the A3500.

Warranty

When paying a high price tag for a blender, you have to be sure you’re getting something that will last long. Fortunately, Vitamix blenders come with warranties reaching 10 years that cover some defects. Some, although, have 2-year warranties.

Types of Vitamix Blenders

Vitamix has four categories of blenders; reconditioned, legacy, Explorian, and Ascent blenders.

Reconditioned Vitamix blenders are refurbished blenders that are still in good shape. These blenders are usually affordable and offer top blending qualities. However, they may not be the ideal gift to send to a loved one.

The Vitamix Legacy series of blenders come with features such as 64-ounce containers, a 7-year warranty, and three-button controls. These classic Vitamix blenders are powerful but don’t come with newer, more exotic features.

The Explorian series has a compact, budget-friendly Vitamix blender. The E310 (which is the only member in the Explorian series) comes with basic features like 10-speed settings, a pulse button, a 5-year warranty, and stainless steel blades.

The Ascent series has the most exotic Vitamix blenders. They come with smart features to make blending a breeze – they have built-in timers, wireless connectivity, and a sensor for detecting the container size.

How to Use A Vitamix Blender

If you use your Vitamix correctly, it can last you a lifetime without the need to replace its parts. So here’s how to use and take proper care of your Vitamix blender.

  • Loading your Vitamix

If you’ve been loading your blender without layering, you’ve most likely been doing it the wrong way. For a faster blend and to prevent cavitation (the formation of air pockets around blades), begin loading the container with the softest recipes as thus;

  • Liquids such as milk, water, juice, and yogurt should go in first. This prevents the formation of air pockets around the blade.
  • Dry items such as spices, grains, protein powder, and grains can go in next.
  • You can then add your leafy greens such as spinach and kale.
  • Next up, add your fruits and vegetables.
  • Finally, you can top the recipe with ice and frozen items

Layering like this (with heavier ingredients at the top) causes the blender to prepare your recipes very fast as the heavier ingredients will press down the lighter ingredients into the blades. But if you own a 20-ounce blender, you’ll have to reverse the setup.

  • Blending on high

When you use your Vitamix for the first time, you may be disturbed by the noise and try to blend on low – don’t do this. You’ll get the best results when you start your blender on low and increase the speed to high. This will cause your meal to blend faster while keeping the appliance cool.

  • Quantity matters

As a rule of thumb, don’t overload your blender with ingredients as they can put a strain on your blender’s motor or cause your recipe to spill over the top. So always gauge the maximum capacity line.

It’s also possible to underfill your blender, so ensure you add enough ingredients to cover the blades for best results.

  • Use your tamper correctly

When blending thick or frozen recipes like nut butter, ice creams, or ice, use the tamper by rotating it around the four corners of the container. This will make it easier for your blender to thoroughly mix the content and break up air pockets.

  • Use your under blade scraper

To get virtually every bit of your ingredient from your container, use the under blade scraper to collect the mixture that won’t come off easily.

  • Cleaning your Vitamix

It’s unadvisable to use a dishwasher to clean your blender. Instead, use the self-cleaning feature by filling the container with warm water halfway, adding dish soap, and running it for 30 to 60 seconds. Or you can just wash it with your hands.

FAQs about Best Vitamix Blenders

Vitamix blenders typically last between 2 and 10 years. With proper care and maintenance, you can extend the lifespan of your Vitamix blender to around 7 and 10 years.

Vitamix reconditioned blenders are worth buying as they have been repaired by the Vitamix’s professionals. They’re also cheaper than brand new models: however, refurbished Vitamix blenders are not as durable as new models.

The quietest Vitamix blender is the Vitamix A3500. It only makes noise reaching 69 decibels. Although, it’s very expensive. Another quiet Vitamix blender is the A3300 which also belongs to the Vitamix Ascent series. While it’s cheaper than the A3500, it’s more expensive than most other models.

Although Vitamix blenders don’t come with slicing and shredding discs to shred or thinly slice vegetables and other items, you can use your Vitamix blender as a food processor for some recipes.

You can set your Vitamix blender to process food on low speeds, and it’ll chop vegetables but in small amounts. At these low speeds, it can also process salsas and dips.

You can also get a Vitamix food processor attachment with a multiuse blade and shredding discs. However, this attachment is only compatible with Ascent blenders.

Our Recommendation

The Vitamix 5200 Pro is our top performer and the best Vitamix blender due to its impressive blending power in processing fruits and vegetables into flawless smoothies. It’s also efficient in making dips and nut butters. Despite its cons, it stands out for us.

Our second choice for the best Vitamix blenders is the Vitamix ONE. While it’s noisy and not as durable as the other models on the list, we found it to be a great addition to the kitchen counter of small kitchens.

And finally, our third choice for the best Vitamix blenders is the A3500 which comes with unmatched smart functionality, a powerful motor, an intuitive user interface, and 5 presets. Its price is on the high side, though.
