The population of the city according to a census in 2010 was 9326 people which is almost half of Bloomfield’s population. 96.5% of the total population is white and none of them are the original inhabitants which were the Native Americans. The reason for good economic conditions of this town is the schools, these four schools serve the people of Burlington and Harwinton and have a total enrolment of 2800 students. Samuel Griswold was also a resident of the city, he was an industrialist and supported the local community by setting up businesses and providing jobs.
