Burlington and Canton, both border the Farmington River and situated beside the beautiful Berkshires is the scenic rural town of Burlington.Originally the city was a part of Bristol and was inhabited by the Tunxis Native American tribe however in 1806 the city of Burlington separated and became a separate city. The Tunxis Native American tribe are the people that settled along the Connecticut River valley but they are mainly known due to their interactions with the English settlers. They spoke the eastern Algonquian language and sold a lot of their land to the colonists and due to this they were sometimes caught in skirmishes with the other tribes and the new settlers.

The population of the city according to a census in 2010 was 9326 people which is almost half  of Bloomfield’s population.  96.5% of the total population is white and none of them are the original inhabitants which were the Native Americans. The town economically is a safe haven for people to start their lives since the median household income is $105,250, there are however 11.9% of the total population who earn more than 200,000$ annually. Which is a good enough reason to settle down in this town if you’re thinking of relocating. If you do make that decision, let us at Kitchen Infinity know and we’ll remodel your kitchen in Burlington so you can worry about one less thing!

The reason for good economic conditions of this town is the schools, these four schools serve the people of Burlington and Harwinton and have a total enrolment of 2800 students. Samuel Griswold was also a resident of the city, he was an industrialist and supported the local community by setting up businesses and providing jobs. The overall living experience in the city is really nice because of the comfort, security, financial situation and natural scenery.

The main attraction of the city are the Berkshires however the Seventh Day Baptist cemetery is also an area of interest because it dates back to the 18th century. There have been myths about the place and the cemetery is sometimes referred to as Green Lady Cemetery because of a ghost that haunts the place. Connecticut fish hatchery and Nepaug reservoir is also present in Burlington and can be visited too.
