Darien is the smallest town on the Gold Coast. The public facilities in Darien are world class including libraries, beaches, parks and salt caves etc.

Pear Tree Point Beach
One of the best beaches in Fairfield county, entering to Long Island Sound from the Goodwives River Pear Tree Point beach is the best place to visit during the summers. The free wooden chairs and the pale sand encapsulates you with its comfort. The water at the shoreline is also shallow and safe for young children. Summers are busy because the Noroton Yacht Club is just across the water. For dreamy sunsets and perfect picnics with grills and concession stands this is the place to be.

Darien Historical Society
An exhibit hall in a barn maintained since 1827, the Darien historical society houses the bates Scofield house, the Darien historical archive and the resource library. Famous for their extensive collection and historical costumes from the 18th century in the Scofield Barn is always beautifully displayed. The house was restored carefully around a large central chimney with an original beehive oven.
Darien Library
Darien Library regularly visited by 1300 people on a typical day is recommended as a Library Journal Give Star Library Organizing an incredible 1500 public events per year this library is among the busiest in Connecticut. Parents and specially mothers come to hangout here and have their Kitchen talk in the cafe. While the children and teens are busy with the free wifi computers and a 3D printer. Movie screenings also take place every Friday.
Cherry Lawn Park
A product of a lot of efforts by the local volunteers and associations, on Brookside road is a park spread across 28 acres, The Cherry Lawn Park. It is full of active and passive opportunities of recreation. From a gentle stroll to the stone bridge to picnic spots and gazebos this park has it all. Like the Danbury Sport Dome, this park offers a softball field, four tennis courts, basketball course and playscape for children as well. The playscape is large carefully and cleverly packed with equipment to help kids learn creatively. It’s the perfect spot for your holiday with your children.
The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk
The Maritime Aquarium opened in 1988 is the one of the top tourist attractions partly housed in the ironworks of Darien. Representing more than 300 hundred species, 75 live exhibits and 2700 marine animals, the display at three touch tags are thrilling for kids and adults alike. Some of the exhibits are Sea Turtles, River Otters, Harbor Seals and the Jelly exhibit.. The IMAX theatre with a six stories tall and 10,000 watt sound system is a must visit as well.
Salt Cave of Darien
Looking for a blissful place for quick drive away from kitchen chores and house duties, the Salt Cave of Darien lined with tons of therapeutic pink Himalayan Salts is your place to go.
