Gotta’s Farm and Cider Mill – Proud growers of quality fruits and vegetables. They offer self picking of fruits such as peaches, apples and pears in their respective seasons. Gotta’s also maintains a farm stand bakery with mouthwatering pies, cookies and bread. They also participate in regional farmers markets.
Gotta’s open from mid April till December 24th every year. This place is a must visit if you happen to be here in their timeline. The fresh fruit and vegetable aroma and the country style vibe makes you wanna pick all the vegetables and cook all day in your kitchen. As they say when its Gotta’s it’s gotta be good.
Arrigoni Winery – Established on the family love of “Oenology”. Introduced by the boxing champion John “ Jack LaSalle” Gherlone, grandfather to the current owner of the winery. Gherlone died in 1997 at 86, a second generation Italian immigrant but not before passing on his love of wine and wine-making to his grandson and great granddaughter. He taught his son the best techniques to crush and press grapes and how to properly barrel.
Apart from serving the best wine in all of the state, they also showcase areas hottest talents. Their wine patio offers the best stage side seats for musical shows while you sip your aromatic wine
Saint clement’s castle – Keeping up with Old Saybrook in history, Portland has its own share of history. A grand European style estate located on 90 scrupulous acres overseeing the picturesque Connecticut River. The castle has two elegant ballrooms, art gallery, stales over 11000 sq.feet of flexible event and meeting space and taverns. It’s an ideal venue for training and seminars. Fox on the Green – Speaking of wine and we don’t mention Italian food, that seems like incomplete. Run by local couple Fox in the Green is one of the most favourites of the people around Portland. It is located near the golf course. A simple small town restaurant with Italian music, beautiful aroma of Italian wine and aromatic food gives all your senses the pleasure of food.
