Watch the Sunrise from the Ocean – People living in or visiting the east coast, have knocked off seeing sunrise over the ocean a long time ago but Kiawah Island’s sunrise is magical because it’s preserved naturally and is thinly populated. You can either wake up early, bike down the beach, spread a blanket and watch the sun peek over the ocean or better yet reserve an oceanfront vacation. Bring your coffee, watch the sun and let the waves keep you company
Eat out at a Lowcountry Cookout – Even though Kiawah Island doesn’t beat Sullivan’s Island when it comes to eat-out options, it still has decent eat-out options. Every Monday night during summers or most major holidays, visitors and islanders both head to the shore of Kiawah River for a long standing tradition of the island: “The Mingo Point Oyster Roast & Barbecue”. There is plenty to pile on your plates.e.g Southern mains, dishes and desserts including freshly caught oysters to smoked chicken and pork. While some people eat you will see others shopping for crafts and hitting the dance floor
Ride Bikes On The Beach and Through The Marshlands – A delightful afternoon biking through the tropical wetlands, stopping to tour the Marsh Island Park and to top it off, climb the tower and enjoy the views. Cycling is the preferred method of most people for getting around Kiawah as it houses 30 miles of paved paths and 10 miles of bike-able cycling beaches. These paths are a destination on their own. Some visitors coast along the tide line to experience the length of the shore.
