USS Yorktown, Patriots Point – If you are a WW2 warship enthusiast, this is your paradise. This town not only has the famous USS Yorktown, a highly decorated aircraft carrier but also houses the USS Clamagore, a submarine.
Making it a rich naval historical point, these two together form the patriots point. There are almost 25 naval aircrafts including the iconic A-7 Corsair and the F-14 Tomcat. The museum inside also allows you to view the medals of honor.

The Avian Conservation Center – This town of Charleston County has a sanctuary for birds of prey like the hawk, eagle, owl and falcons. This center not only actively rescues and provides shelter to these birds but is also open for tourist interested in these magnificent creatures
The staff is very caring, friendly and very passionate about their jobs. There are countless stories of birds being nursed back to health by them. Although the center provides guided tours, children under 6 are not allowed.
Palmetto Islands County Park – The tropical setting of the Palmetto Island Country Park makes it a must visit. It is a family oriented park which means you will find picnic spots, bicycle tracks, boardwalks to spend time with your loved ones.
The picnic sites have built in grills so you can enjoy cooking or barbecuing outside your kitchen with friends and family. Other things include natural hiking trails, kayak zone, fishing zone, playground with toys and volleyball courts
USS Laffey (DD-724) – Known as the “Ship that wouldn’t die”, USS Laffey despite having witnessed quite a number of casualties and destruction, the ship continued to fight and play its part in the war. Although some parts of the ship are still restricted to the public, the video shot by an on board camera during the invasion makes it worth every penny you will spend visiting this memorial.
Farmers Market – No small town is complete without its very own Farmer’s market. As the name suggests you will find a variety of fruits, veggies, seafood , country food and spices to add tempting aromas to your kitchen. There is so much variety that it will take you hours to go through the entire place and get something to eat. There are cookies, sandwiches, burritos and much more to soothe your palate. The aura is great, the food is mouth-watering and the farm products are fresh.
Mount Pleasant Pier – Better known as Jeey but his name is Gerald Granier on the pier site is the best fishing guide in town. He is a must visit for locals as well as visitors for an all-rounder fishing experience. Locals visit the Mount Pleasant Pier for fun, food and fishing regularly
